Meet your host, Chef Massimo Bottura—one of the most visionary ambassadors of modern Italian cuisine. His journey began in a small trattoria on the outskirts of Modena, where he learned the foundations of regional Italian cooking under Rezdora Lidia Cristoni and honed his skills with classical French training under Georges Coigny. Bottura’s passion for pushing culinary boundaries deepened through apprenticeships with Alain Ducasse and Ferran Adrià, inspiring him to blend tradition with bold innovation.

In 1995, Bottura opened Osteria Francescana in Modena, a space where Italian culinary heritage meets contemporary art and design. Known for creating iconic dishes like the "Five Ages of Parmigiano Reggiano," Bottura is a master of evoking emotion, memory, and culture through food. With three Michelin stars and topping the list of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants, his work isn’t just groundbreaking—it’s a global inspiration. Bottura’s creativity extends beyond the kitchen, as seen in his thought-provoking Netflix appearance on Chef’s Table and his artistic exploration of culinary revolution, sharing his process and vision on stages around the world.
